Cadillac Records Movie Recap (2008)   This is the story on how two unlikely forces team up and change the course of black music forever. Cedric the Entertainer, who plays Willie Dixon, help narrates this story on how rock music originates from black music. First of this party is Leonard Chess, he’s a Polish immigrant who has a dream of opening a nightclub for Negros in Chicago. The other is McKinnley Morganfield, but we all would know him as Muddy Waters. He’s a sharecropper from Mississippi. One day, Alan Womack wants to record him for the Library of Congress and after this he realized he has a gift. After this experience, he packs everything and moves to the big city of Chicago. But once there, the folks in Chicago aren’t fond of this as they call it “sharecropper” music. But a woman name Gineva Wade wants to give him the time of day and they do things that I can’t say on YouTube. After their love making, she given him an amp, that way everyone hears his sound. What Happened to Mya?

Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah and Mya. These were the leading ladies of the Y2K era and while I already cover two of these, it’s time we do another. Recently Mya has been making news about her lifestyle and her promoting self-love but how did we get there. Today we are going to go through her journey and career, so without further ado. What Happened to Mya (Force flings, Sabotaged, Finding Self-Love) Mya Marie Harrison was born on October 10, 1979 in Washington, DC. Her father was a singer and her mother was an accountant. Growing up for Mya wasn’t easy. Throughout her childhood, having a black father and white mother was still frowned upon, thus dealt with bullying. But as an escape, Mya got involved in tap dancing, violin lessons and ballet in her youth. At the age of ten, she joined a dancing troupe called TWA (Tappers with Attitudes). So, it’s best said that she became a dance protégé. As she got older, her father discovered that she could sing. Realizing that there’s much more...

Mariah Carey: Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse (2014)

Mariah Carey “Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse” 1.        Cry.: This album starts off with the piano ballad known as Cry. I want you to take a wild guess on what the song is about. If you guessed “longing for your lover in the past, even though you have moved on” you would be partially correct. Only this time she said we both break down and cry. The ballad does remind me of some of her older ballads that were appreciated at first but grew stale over time. Kind of like this song, it’s a harmless ballad but it’s one of those you heard of one you heard them all. (DECENT) 2.        Faded: I said something like this on my previous review, this is definition of late period song. Produced by Mike Will Made It, this song is about a lover not being loyal to her as Mariah believes that he’s fading out to view. The outro points that out and you know what’s crazy, I don’t mind this one, the concept work the production isn’t...
